I have someone to answer to, same as you. Not to the degree that the troopers do by a longshot. Getting taken out for treason at a pivotal part in a war that we can actually end wouldn't do good to anyone.

With no war to fight in, they could actually have lives.

Do you really think the Republic would let us go? They own us. You enforce that. That's why you all need to stand down, resign your commissions, or die. That way the ends the war quicker, and fewer clones get fed into the meat grinder on your piss-poor orders.

Without a war to fight in, what cause would they have not releasing you from duty? There are plenty of senators who are ready to advocate for you once the war is over.

One resignation wouldn't matter in the face of the entire Jedi Order. I am replaceable. The Council won't make a move to extract the order from their posts right now.
